How do I bid on a painting job in Chicago area?

It is a repaint/remodel about 2500 sq ftHow do I bid on a painting job in Chicago area?
Have you done bids before? You need to go though step by step what your scope of work is to be, write down what it is you are bidding on. Think in your mind how long it will take to do each step of the painting process that needs to be done and decide how much you want to bid per hour and figure out your materials and that should be it. I like to put on a 10% fudge factor at the end because it always takes longer to do than you think it will. Good luck! How do I bid on a painting job in Chicago area?
My husband is a painter and I did some resrech on line about a year or two ago and the going rate then for that area was anywhere from $1.75 to $2.50 per sq. foot. that was just for labor not materials. It all depends on how high the ceilings are, if you will need skaffeling as well and who far you have to travel all these things are factors the following lings may help you there are plenty more lings as well can't find the one I found and the link is on my other computer. You should have some luck with these links those.

  1. Thanks for the post! I found your links useful. I was looking to find a good painting contractor that wouldn't cost me a bundle. I found the folks at http://raiderpainting.com to be very helpful.
