I am looking at getting my 1999 Nissan Pathfinder SE painted. It is not rusted and the paint looks fine, I just want a different color. Does anyone know if I should go with my original dealer to repaint it (A Nissan Dealer) or are places like Maaco reputable?? Any suggestions would be appreciated, oh and anyone have a general idea how much it would cost?? Nothing special, just a paint job, one color. Thanks!Paint job for my vehicle$$$??
I would call around and see would do it for the right price.Make sure you tell them if some one has a better price cause they will go down. Then call your dealer to see what his price would be then just pick.I would say $300-$450Paint job for my vehicle$$$??
Changing the color of a vehicle is a very detailed process. Don't go to Maaco. They make money by working fast. You need someone who will take the time to properly prep and paint the car. If you take short cuts when changing the color it will come back to bite you. I would go to your local auto parts/paint store. They will be familiar with the shops in the area and could give you a recommendation. A ballpark price is $3,000 - $4,000. You also need to register your car's new color with the BMV.
Trust me ';Maaco'; does the best job....
Just get to know the guys that work there
build trust and you will not be screwed...
YOUR ARE MAKING A BIG MISTAKE DOING A COLOR CHANGE UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO SPEND SEVERAL THOUSAND. ASK ANY PAINTER ABOUT THE PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH COLOR CHANGES.
your dealer would be very expensive Macco is ok but not fantastic closer to bottom end ( unless you got a bud there that will prep it right and add extra clear coats) I worked along side a orange county ca. painter that does top end auto painting ( car show cars, custom one off's etc ) and was able to see what goes into getting the best. the attention to detail, the removal of doors, hood, fenders glass etc to produce a show winning car. my point was prep of your car is utmost to get good results so ask questions and dont be afraid to stop in and check there prep work, pay for more clear coats!! thats what faids and gets pollished back
