$3,000 to $4,000 would be average for a good paint job.





If you don't care what it looks like go ahead and go to Maaco, they'll do it for about $200. Hope you don't mind drips and paint all over your moulding though. If you're thinking about that route you might as well just take a spray can to it and save yourself about $160.





Don't shop for a paint job based on price and don't even consider someone that doesn't have a lifetime guarantee on their work!





Here are some good things to look for in a decent shop. These items must be r%26amp;i'd for a good job.





R%26amp;I;


any moulding or nameplates


belt line moulding


door handle (includes trim panel)


front and rear bumper


mudflaps


mirrors





If they're not doing this they're not going to do a decent job and the poor paint job will actually decrease the value of the car when they're done.
$1000.00 is the least you say taking everything to bare metal that is extensive work and most discount chains only do the minimum of sanding and some that did not even remove mud before painting lol.


if the paint is not chipping off and is sound most would not go to bare metal.


my guess is 600 to 1500 depending on prep and the quality you are after.
