Classic car paint job?

Ok I just bought a beautiful 1971 Chevrolet chevell 4 door an I want to get a new paint job on it right now it is like a green with a white top. I am willing to change the inerior also. Or paint over the white top. So give me your ideas what color interior combo should I get?Classic car paint job?
I think it depends on what you want to do with the car.

If you plan to keep it mostly stock, maybe with a few mods, paint it in an original 1970's color. Find a dealer brochure from 1971 and look at all the factory Chevy colors. Pick one or something close.

If you plan to mod the car, pick any color you like. I would check out what customizer guys like Chip Foose and Troy Trepanier have done to 1970's cars (Google those guys if you do not know who they are).

watch that TV show ';Overhaulin';, they do a lot of 1970's cars and you'll get some great ideas on colors and designs.Classic car paint job?
when I watch the collecto shows, Mekum Auto Auction on HDTV theater, they are really into matching number and original quality of cars. that is how the sellers get the big bucks.

this is a classic, and I would encourage you to keep it as stock as possible.

when I watch the show, people that keep the cars a close to original as possible get the best sale price for the cars. Chevelle is a hot number. 4 doors not as great, but people want these. Some go for $50,000 to $70,000.

when the people change the original stuff they do not get the return.

good luck to you
