What do I do with my deck do I paint or stain it & what is the best product to do the job?

For pressure treated wood, first pressure wash it. I have used a product called ';Cabots'; wood stain. It seems to be the best out there, but you will not find it at any Lowes or Home Depot. Go to your local paint store, or check Ebay. My family owns a fence company, and this is the product we suggest to our customers. Stain or seal it. If you like the color of the existing wood, then just use a Thompson's Water Seal. They may come tinted for a litte extra color. Don't paint it ( my opinion) that would be a never ending process. you'll have to scrape it and repaint it when the paint starts to flake and so on. Exterior paint is a pain if you ask me. you can do both with a stain that is like a paint i cant remember the name but any paint store can help. water sealers are ok but should be done every year. and paint on a deck is just asking for future maint. the sun is really hard to deal with on a deck no matter what you do.
i believe that staining is the way to go. thompson's water seal is good or aquatrol by cwf is a great product it goes on opace(milky) but changes to a cedar look after a few weeks. it lasts a few years before reapplying
