Is goo gone safe on a car's paint job?

I have tree sap all over my car's hood and windshield....is goo gone safe for the paint job?Is goo gone safe on a car's paint job?
It's real easy for me to sit here and say ';yes';, but it's your clear coat that will get thrashed if I'm wrong!

I'm told WD-40 takes off tree sap, though I've never tried it.
